Cantering at second lot

It started off minus two with freezing fog and pretty cold, but as the light has come up and the day has gone on, a warmer morning has prevailed. It sounds like we are going to have a mild but possibly wet week to come. We have plenty of riders in this morning, even with one non-runner, and have been getting on well cantering on the Rubbing House and Southfields Round polytracks. The riders we have at present are really teaching the horses something.

Our runner yesterday is now handicapped in what was a slowly run contest. She was still a bit green and kept on once the race had been decided. We will now give her a bit of time and wait for the turf season. That won’t be long in coming and in a mile and a half plus handicaps she will be competitive. This family all get better with age and distance.

Pageant Master

I don’t know whether four years is the maximum any trainer can have for possessing an electric devise intended to use on horses, but it is what Australia are proposing as punishment for their leading trainer. This seems pretty lenient to me. Bringing our sport into disrepute like this should be a life ban, and never being allowed to work with horses ever again. But, in these modern times I would think the word human rights would be coming into the decision making somewhere.

Gregorian ex Astrodiva B/Gr colt foal

We now have the second foal of the season when Astrodiva had a colt foal by Gregorian last night. Both mother and son are doing well.

Pulled out ready for the next lot

After yesterday’s news that Tim had returned back to work I now need to let you know that he has had a change of heart and has left to concentrate fully on his recovery. He has been a great help to us but your health is the most important thing in life.  We wish him well for the future.
