It’s slightly cooler today and much more overcast, in fact we did have 30 seconds of very gentle rain, but the forecast is for it to get warmer again as the week goes on. We have a good complement of staff in, including a new one, so have been getting on well with the exercise this morning. Southfields Round and the Rubbing House polytrack have been the two exercise areas.

England doing well in the World Cup has certainly caused a stir. Sporting events, such as Wimbledon, have taken a hit when the matches are on. I see tomorrow’s fixtures, and if they progress to the final on Sunday, will all be adjusted so that everybody can watch the football. Quite right too in my opinion and let’s hope the team can do it. There is nothing like success to brighten everybody’s world and our nation could definitely do with some at present.

Walking back home

It was very sad to hear of John Dunlop’s death at the weekend. He was a most brilliant trainer and both he and his wife have been very kind to me over the years. Our condolences go to both Ed and Harry, two sons who have done tremendously well in the training profession, and to his wife Sue.
