"Share your sparkle wherever you are."

On Hamilton Hill

It’s a clear, bright morning with plenty of wind, which is making it feel much colder than it actually is. The forecast is for it to start raining again (what a surprise) around lunchtime and then turn much colder as the week goes on. At least it is dry at present and we can get the horses out with a full complement of staff and everything going as it should do. I am delighted with how the new two-year-olds are moving and behaving.

Gee Sixty Six

Garrison Law

Our runners on Friday and Saturday didn’t trouble the judge, but Astrojewel showed plenty of speed in a well above average race and once she has had another race, she will be winning. I may drop her back in trip as well. Rum Ration needs a mile and a half, but we knew that beforehand and will now be handicapped. He is a genuine galloper and is sure to win races as he progresses. Astroblaze hung badly on the bend and could never get on her right leg. It was a competitive contest and I think we need to get her sorted out and wait until we can run her on a straight track over a bit further. She has certainly got the ability to win races.

Pageant Master and below

looking magnificent

As I said the two-year-olds are in great form and one of them, Pageant Master, is especially pleasing me. There are shares for sale in him and I can highly recommend him as a good fun horse that will be out early in the turf season and should give everybody a lot of involvement. Please look at the website for further details of them all. I would be delighted to show you them at any time in the yard and on the gallops.

Farne Odyssey

Velvet Vision

I see the Irish bloodstock industry was talking about a disaster if there is a trade tariff between Ireland and England after we leave the European Union. I can’t see there being a big problem over this and common sense will prevail as the Irish and English bloodstock markets have been entwined for as long as anybody can remember. I don’t see any worry at all and things will settle down and move on as normal. It just makes for good press headlines.
