It is much milder today with high cloud and no rain. Everyone is in so the flag is flying once again. We have had a good morning with the horses. Indian Red and Gee Sixty Six went schooling and jumped well over 20 flights of hurdles. They are improving and one more school like that will put them ready for a run. All the rest of the string have done good healthy canters.

There is plenty to look forward to in the near future with international racing. The Breeders' Cup and the Melbourne carnival will be brilliant to watch. There will be many European horses competing at both venues. It is a long way to travel which puts our horses at a big disadvantage, but let's hope they can have some success.

Alastair Down's piece in the Racing Post today is very thought provoking as he discusses the industry and what it should be doing to self regulate in certain areas. The article is certainly worth reading and I hope the right people take note so that we get some clear thinking and talking rather than brushing the problems under the carpet.
